Volunteer With Children in Thailand

Do you want to discover Thailand while making a difference in the lives of disadvantaged children and underprivileged children? Are you dreaming of a once-in-a-lifetime experience working with exciting people from all over the world in an exotic location? Then consider becoming a Volunteer with poor and deprived children in Thailand with this program!

Thailand is a great country filled with friendly people and historical artifacts. Sporting both a rich culture and history as well as beautiful natural scenery perfect for hiking, the country has long been a top destination for travelers from all over the world.

Sadly, many Thais face adversity and tough economic conditions, and as such lack the ability to provide often expensive childcare services for the kids. Farmers, factory workers and other working-class people are hit hard by this problem, and childcare centers have been set up by the local government and Buddhist temples to help alleviate it.

However, these initiatives are terribly undermanned, and are in great need of volunteers to provide valuable time and effort to this worthwhile effort. By volunteering, you’ll be able to provide a better daily life for the kids of poorer families and give them motivation and inspiration for their future.

If you’re looking for an exciting opportunity to change the world for the better in a refreshing new environment, then contact IFRE today for more information!

Skills and Qualifications:

Volunteer Responsibilities and Impact:

As a volunteer in the Childcare/Child Development Project in Thailand, you will work closely with schools, temples and NGOs for 4 to 5 hours a day, from Monday to Friday. Depending on your skills you will be teaching English as well as other subjects like health, math, science and computers, as well as providing daily care to the children. Additionally, you will be organizing and leading extracurricular activities like games, sports and creative pursuits, as well as teaching children useful life skills like gardening, finance, painting, building, sewing and others. You may also be asked to assist with administrative tasks like fundraisers, assisting families, record keeping and planning excursions.

Most importantly, you will provide love and care to the children who are with you. Through this effort, you will provide a ray of light in the lives of underprivileged kids, greatly motivating and inspiring them towards a better future. You will also provide relief to overworked local care workers, and free up parents to work on improving the conditions for their family.

Your time spent volunteering with children in Thailand will be an exciting one as you have fun-filled experiences each and every day and meet fascinating people and lovely children.

On arrival at the airport in Thailand, you will be taken to your accommodation and given a briefing about the project the following morning. Your volunteer work then starts on the second day.

On a typical day, you will be served breakfast in the early morning together with your fellow guests and set out to your work placement around 7:30-8:00am. You will generally spend the first few hours from 9am to 11:30am working directly with the children, before helping serve food for the kids’ lunch break and then enjoying your own immediately after.

In the afternoons between 12pm and 3pm, the children will be napping, and during this time you will assist with renovation projects at the facility or various community projects around the village.

At 3pm your duties will generally be over, and you are free to explore Ayutthaya for the rest of the evening or return to your accommodation where a delicious Thai dinner will be served at 6:30pm, giving you an excellent chance to get to know your fellow guests.
