Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival day Meet your fellow travellers and our dedicated team, enjoy the sights and sounds of Bangkok

Day 2 – Orientation and Bangkok Tour . A great day sightseeing and then spend an evening on the famous Khao San Road

Day 3 – Transfer to Surin . Sit back and enjoy the journey! Be sure to take plenty of photos as you watch the Thai countryside go by.

Day 4 – 7 – Renovation Project . For the next four days you will be volunteering at a local school or community in need of a helping hand, doing hands-on renovation work with our local team. Projects can include things like painting or construction, and start in the morning and finish in the afternoon depending on the daily task.

Day 8 - 10 – Free Time . Now that you’ve completed your renovation project, you have time for the next couple of days to relax and explore the rest of Surin!

Day 11 – 14 - The Elephant Experience begins . Get ready for your transfer to the elephant village, where for the next 4 days and 3 nights you will live, work and play alongside a real elephant community on the rural outskirts of Surin. Here you can help gather food for the elephants, bathe them in the river on hot days, and go kayaking in your free time. On your final day you’ll also get to visit the market on the way back to Surin main town, where you will be staying for one night before your transfer back to Bangkok.

Day 15 – Travel to Bangkok . The team will set you on your way for the coach journey to Bangkok. You will be given your hotel booking and money for the taxi transfer to your accommodation on Khaosan road.

Day 16 – Transfer to Koh Tao . After a day free to explore Bangkok, check in at the Lomprayah coach desk one hour before your departure time for your overnight coach to Koh Tao. Our team will have already explained where the Lomprayah check in desk is at the original welcome and orientation.

The journey is in two stages, and the Lomprayah gets you from coach to ferry, and onto Koh Tao.

Day 17- 21 – Koh Tao . A morning arrival on a beautiful island where you can choose to laze on the beach, book a snorkel trip or take an Open Water PADI course. There is plenty to keep you busy!

Day 22 – 27 – Transfer to Koh Phangan . This is just a short ferry ride over to the party island! Enjoy the fun filled beaches of Koh Phangan, where you can relax, party, and immerse yourself in island life.

Day 28 – Transfer to Bangkok . In the morning the resort staff will take you to the pier for your return journey to Bangkok. On arrival in Bangkok check in to the guest house for a final evening on Khao San Road.

Day 29 – End A final breakfast, and on to your next adventure.

We’re dedicated to providing the highest quality volunteer programs at the lowest fees, which make it possible for everyone, especially students, to volunteer internationally and make a positive impact in the lives of others.

We believe in 100% transparency. Rest assured, we never use middlemen. Your one-time registration fee of $299 covers our administrative costs. The low weekly fee is paid in the host country directly to your host family and project (via country coordinator), and includes housing, food, and minor expenses. IFRE is a non-profit organization, so your program fees are tax deductible.

The program fee needs to be paid in GBP to directly to the country coordinator before the project start date.
