Thailand and Cambodia are countries filled with exciting things to see and do. From awe-inspiring temples and ruins to beautiful nature, rich wildlife, and pristine tropical beaches, there is something for everyone in these two countries.
This trip is a fantastic way to volunteer and travel the real Thailand and Cambodia, seeing some real life local communities, stunning national parks, and amazing temples, and end on the picturesque beaches. Surin is a unique opportunity to see the road less travelled, and Khao Yai and Angkor Wat are unforgettable experiences.

Day 1 – Arrival day Meet your fellow travellers and our dedicated team, enjoy the sights and sounds of Bangkok
Day 2 – Orientation and Bangkok Tour A great day sightseeing and then spend an evening on the famous Khao San Road
Day 3 – Bangkok volunteer day Work with the children at the temple school located in the grounds of Bangkok’s famous Wat Pho (reclining Buddha). It’s a truly fascinating experience and spending time with the children here is an unforgettable experience.
Day 4 – .JJ Market Explore one of South East Asia’s largest markets – you name it, they’ve got it here. If you’re all shopped out, grab a bite to eat at the fantastic food stalls located all around the market.
Day 5 – Transfer to Surin You and your group will take the train to Surin. Taking around 8 hours it is an experience in itself. Sit back in the air conditioning and enjoy the journey. Be sure to take plenty of photos as you watch the Thai countryside go by.
Day 6 - 9 – Renovation Project For the next four days you will be volunteering at a local school or community in need of a helping hand, doing hands-on renovation work with our local team. Projects can include things like painting or construction, and start in the morning and finish in the afternoon depending on the daily task.
Day 10 – Cambodia Angkor Experience Today is the day you will travel to the Cambodian border to transfer to Siem Reap. You can spend the evenin exploring the area such as the famous Pub Street, and experiencing some local delights.
Day 11 – Angkor Wat Tour A full day ahead exploring the amazing Angkor Wat. This will be a full day experience, and you will return in the evening.
Day 12 – Time to return to Surin You will return to Surin exactly the same way you arrived in Siem Reap, and return back to the Surin Volunteer house, ready for your Elephant Village Experience.
Day 13 - 16 – Elephants For the next 4 days and 3 nights, help to feed, and care for the elephants at an elephant village in Surin. You’ll stay in a homestay, getting back to basics, and learning about rural life in Thailand. On your last day you will be transferring back to Surin town for one night, ready for your trip to Khao Yai.
Day 17 – Khao Yai National Park After a morning of travelling, you have the afternoon and evening free to relax in the jungle setting of Khao Yai.
Day 18 – Khao Yai Trekking Today you will set off in the morning on your trek to Thailand’s most iconic waterfalls, and breathtaking views at Pha Daew Dai. You will have a local guide and your tour guide with you for the trek showing you the route, which will last until late afternoon.
Day 19 – Transfer to Bangkok Another crazy fun night on Khao San Road.
Day 20 – Bangkok Bicycle Tour Today you will be biking through the less-travelled rural streets of Bangkok, and heading to a temple, and crossing the bridge over the Chaophraya River, and finish in the afternoon.
Evening Transfer to Koh Tao Arrive at the Lomprayah office one hour before your coach is due to leave, so you still have time to collect your tickets, stickers, some snacks for the journey, and drop your bags off. Lomprayah consists of an overnight coach, followed by a ferry from Chumpon Pier, with arrival on Koh Tao on Day 21 before midday. Then you have the afternoon to relax, chill, or go out and party.
Day 22 – Snorkelling Trip – Today you’ll get to experience some beautiful viewpoints of Koh Tao and the surrounding islands. There’s plenty of opportunities to stop and snorkel in the best spots, and there’s even a chance you’ll see some Turtles.
Day 24 – Transfer to Koh Phangan Just a short ferry ride away to your next island!
Day 25 – 27 – Koh Phangan. Explore the island, relax, swim, party! The island has a lot to offer, such as yoga retreats, muay thai gyms, and amazing viewpoints.
Day 28 - Transfer to Bangkok Jump on the ferry back to Bangkok, where you will be travelling the same way you came, but during the day. You should arrive back in Bangkok just in time to grab some dinner and have a lovely final evening out!
Day 29 – Check Out A final Breakfast before you leave, and onto your next adventure.

The low weekly fee is paid in the host country directly to your host family and project (via country coordinator), and includes housing, food, and minor expenses. IFRE is a non-profit organization, so your program fees are tax deductible.
The program fee needs to be paid in GBP to directly to the country coordinator before the project start date.

Skills and Qualifications
There are no specific skills or qualifications needed for this volunteering tour. All you need is love and passion for helping others and making a difference, as well as patience and kindness. You should also be an adventurous person who is looking for an exciting new experience and challenge.
