7 – Day Chiang Mai Elephant Tour & Volunteering

The Elephant Experience is great way to experience and learn more about the elephants of Thailand. You’ll have the chance to interact with the elephants and learn more about the issues that the Thai elephant faces and have bags of fun along the way; feeding, bathing and caring for them.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Pick up from hotel. We will pick you up at an agreed time and take you to the elephant home in Mae Wang. Settle in and get to know your fellow travellers. Lunch os included once you arrive, as ell as a few activities with the elephants

Day 2 and 3 – Elephants. Two early starts and busy days, jam packed with fun activities such as; feeding the elephants, making the vitamin cakes them, ‘mucking out’ the elephant’s area, and walking down to the river to bathe them.

Day 4 – Exploring the jungle. Trek through the surrounding area for approximately 4-6hours with your guide, passing through small villages, rice fields, waterfalls and rivers. Spend the night at a jungle camp, and have dinner by the camp fire.

Day 5 – Rafting. Continue your trek and finally float down the river on bamboo rafts, stopping for a riverside lunch along the way before making your way back to the elephant home.

Day 6 – Elephant Hospital . Today there will be a chance to visit the elephant hospital, to experience the daily routine of elephant vets in Lampang.

Day 7 – Transfer back to Chiang Mai city to plan your next adventure.
