Volunteer in Ecuador Orphanage

Do you love kids and dream of traveling abroad to volunteer with orphans? Has the exciting destination of Ecuador been calling out to you? Then this Orphanage program is ideal for you!

Ecuador has a rich history with Incan ruins and a diverse ethnic population to prove it. From the Amazon to the Andes, Ecuador packs a punch for the international traveler with amazing scenery, ancient ruins, fascinating wildlife and incredibly friendly people awaiting you at every turn. Although rich in natural and manmade wonders, a lot of the people

in Ecuador are desperately poor. The hardest hit are the children, and Ecuador sadly has over 200,000 orphans living within its borders.

Join our Ecuador orphanage volunteer program and offer these orphans the help they so desperately need! You will be providing love, compassion, basic care, and will also help out teaching and entertaining the children. IFRE has teamed up with local orphanages, and you can join them in their important work offering a safe haven and a happy childhood to these poor abandoned children of Ecuador.

Your time volunteering will show the children they are deserving of care and attention, and the skills you help teach them will help them go on to lead successful and prosperous lives despite their rough beginnings. Your heart will be full, and you will go home with a lifetime of memories.

Do you want to provide love and care to abandoned and overlooked children in Ecuador? Then contact IFRE today to learn more about volunteering in Ecuador’s orphanages!

Volunteer in Ecuador Orphanage: FAQs

Arrival and departure

Volunteers have to fly into Quito International Airport. We recommend flying into Ecuador one day before the start date of our volunteer projects. Don’t forget to provide correct flight details to our country coordinator.

We do offer airport pick-up services to all of our international volunteers who have chosen to work on our Ecuador orphanage volunteer projects. Our local representative will be waiting for you at the airport and you will meet with them and then be transferred to your accommodations.

IFRE does not provide airport transfer services after the completion of its orphanage volunteer projects. So, volunteers must arrange their transport vehicle to the airport themselves.

Visa

A tourist visa is needed for a volunteer trip to Ecuador. You should apply for a tourist visa at the official embassy or consulate of Ecuador in your home country. It is better to apply for a visa one month before your scheduled flight because the process is lengthy.

There is a visa on arrival facility at the Quito International Airport. You can apply for visa-on-arrival at the international airport with your passport and a couple of photos. But if you’re a citizen of the USA, Canada or any European country except France then you don’t need a visa.

Tourist visas normally last for 90 days in total after their date of issue. So, you will need to extend your visa if you intend to work for more than 90 days on our orphanage volunteer projects in Ecuador. For that, you need to visit the office of Immigration Department in Quito.

You can learn more about visa requirements for Ecuador on this website

Vaccination

You need to get vaccinated for hepatitis A, hepatitis B, typhoid, yellow fever, rabies, meningitis, polio, measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis), chickenpox, shingles, pneumonia and influenza.
