Volunteer Schedule

Volunteering in this project will be a rewarding experience and your days will be fun and exciting as you learn a great deal from local dentists.

Working hours may vary slightly, but you can expect to work 4-5 hours per day, Monday to Friday. Your volunteer shift is in the morning and afternoon.

  • First Day : On your first day of volunteering in a dental project in Nepal, you will be brought to your project placement by our passionate in-country coordinator. They will introduce you to the local project staff and give you an informative orientation. You’ll learn about your duties, your schedule, safety protocol, and go over the culture and customs of Nepal.
  • Weekdays : Your dental work begins on the second day. A typical day might look something like this:
  • 7.00 to 7.30 AM : Begin your day with breakfast and tea.
  • 7.45 AM : Leave your volunteer house and travel to your project site. If you’re traveling by local bus, you can do so cheaply but show up early, but don’t be surprised if it’s late, and be prepared to stand if it gets really crowded. Spend a fantastic day as a dental volunteer in a hospital in Nepal!
  • 12.00 PM : Break for lunch. Spend the time connecting with your fellow dental volunteers and project staff and make friends from around the world!
  • 3.00 PM : Work at the placement usually ends. You’ll be free to travel to your volunteer house, prepare for the next day or do some shopping and sightseeing.
  • 6.45 PM : Every evening, you will have a traditional dinner at your volunteer house. Immerse yourself in the local culture, practice your Nepali language, and make the most of your time in this fascinating country.
