Volunteer Responsibilities & Impact
While volunteering in Argentina, you will spend about 4-6 hours a day doing volunteer work. You will work with municipalities, local non-profits, schools, and community centers. Depending on your skills, interests and the needs of the local staff, your daily responsibilities might include:
- Writing grant proposals
- Aiding organizations with web design and information technology
- Project planning
- Building and maintaining databases
- Supporting with organizations' accounting
- Teaching English, health, math, science, nutrition, etc.
- Assisting with administrative tasks
- Organizing events and training courses
- Assisting the public library
- Teaching basic business skills
- Promoting community health and sanitation

- Helping community centers
- Organizing recreational and extracurricular activities

Skills and Qualifications:
We invite volunteers from a variety of backgrounds to volunteer in our community development project. You must be at least 18 years old, and intermediate level Spanish is required. If you cannot speak more than basic Spanish, we suggest you enroll in our Spanish language course to make your stay more rewarding – both for you and the communities you help.
No additional qualifications are required for this Argentina volunteer program.However, we encourage you to share your specials skills and passions with this project, and if you have worked with non-profits or done community development work before you will be a huge asset. You must be enthusiastic, good at working in teams, and able to organize events and projects.
You must respect locals and host organizations, their rules and their projects. You will be working with a lot of different kinds of people, so you should be sensitive, flexible, adaptive, patient and proactive.
Working as a volunteer with community development is an incredibly varied and exciting experience. Each day will be filled with fun and rewarding experiences as you work closely with the community and become immersed in their daily life.
IFRE works with a variety of organizations on a number of different community development initiatives in Argentina, so your daily schedule is going to vary and depend on the particular project placement you are assigned. Here is a sample daily schedule to give you an idea of what to expect.
First Day: On your first day of volunteering in Argentina, you will be escorted to your placement by a local coordinator and introduced to the dedicatedstaff you will be working with. You will have an informative orientation where you learn all about your project, daily schedule, safety measures, and the customs and culture of Argentina.
Weekdays: Your work begins in earnest on the second day, and atypical volunteer day is as follows:
6.00 to 7.30 AM: Eat a delicious Argentinian breakfast. (Depending on your meal plan, this may or may not be included in your volunteer fee).
7.45 AM: You head out to your meaningful community development project. Depending on what you’re doing and where you’re placed, your hours and schedule will vary.
12.00 PM: Break for a delicious Argentinian lunch.
3.00 PM: Your work at the placement usually ends around this time. You are then free to enjoy the rest of your day, spend time with fellow volunteers, and explore Argentina.
WEEKENDS This is your chance to explore all across Argentina and make the most of your time abroad!
Argentina Volunteer Opportunities :Dates and Fees
IFRE programs begin every Monday year-round. If you have travel constraints, you can still start your chosen program on any day of the year.
NGO Community Development Project is not available in December,January and till February 15th, 2020

Accommodation and Meal
When you join Argentina volunteer opportunities, you will have safe, clean and comfortable accommodations. You will stay either in a hostel or with a welcoming host family. In both cases you will share a room with fellow volunteers of the same gender, making friends from around the world. In our Argentina volunteer programs, we have three meal plans to choose from.

Argentina Volunteer Opportunities : FAQs
Pretty soon you’ll be boarding a plane to Argentina, your dreams of helping others taking flight. Before you get there, there are a few things you should know when traveling with IFRE.
Arrival and departure
For our community development volunteer program in Argentina, you will fly into the Pajas Blancas International Airport(Aeropuerto Internacional Ingeniero Ambrosio Taravella) in Cordoba city one day before the start date of your volunteer project.
Make sure to provide correct flight details to our in-country coordinator before leaving your home country so we can pick you up at the correct time.
We do not offer airport drop off services, so you’ll just need to ask someone at your accommodations how to set up a taxi to the airport when you’re done volunteering, and they’ll be happy to help.
Argentina Volunteer Opportunities: Visa
Visas are a necessary step in international travel, and you will need a tourist visa for your volunteer trip in Argentina. You can visit the official embassy of Argentina in your home country and apply for a tourist visa. The visa process takes time, so you should apply for a visa a few weeks before your flight.
You can also get a visa on arrival at the airport, depending on your nationality. On-arrival-visas will last for exactly 90 days and citizens from countries such as the USA, UK, New Zealand, Canada, and Australia don’t need a visa to visit Argentina. However, diplomatic or official passport holders must get visas prior to arrival. Having a passport with a validity of 6 months is enough but you shouldcheck the requirements for your home country prior to travel.
Volunteers who want to stay longer and continue working in our volunteer work projects in Argentina can extend their tourist visas for an additional 90 days by visiting the office Dirección Nacional de Migraciones.

Make sure to visit your doctor and discuss your upcoming travel and get up to date on any necessary vaccinations.
Vaccinations for Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis), polio, mumps and rubella (MMR), rabies, hepatitis B, typhoid, meningitis, yellow fever, measles, shingles, influenza, Hepatitis A, chickenpox, and pneumonia is a must for those joining our Argentina volunteer work projects.
