As a volunteer raising HIV/AIDS awareness in India with IFRE’s meaningful program, you can help spread awareness and education, helping prevent future infections and teaching communities about the disease and how to treat those already living with HIV/AIDS with respect and compassion.

You will fly into Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi for your volunteer HIV work project in India. We’ll have someone waiting for you as soon as you land, and they’ll take you right to your accommodations. Yes, you’ll need a visa to travel to India and participate in IFRE’s programs. You’ll need to apply for a tourist visa, but you’ll want to research the requirements for travelers coming to your home country.

Some nationalities may be eligible to apply on arrival the airport in India; however, we suggest applying ahead of time to avoid any potential complications. You may be able to apply for an e-visa, and you can learn more about that and the rules for your own home country at India’s official website for visa applications. Why volunteer in IFRE’s India HIV/AIDS volunteer project?

Volunteering in this HIV/AIDS project is a greatly rewarding experience that allows you to make a real difference in people’s lives while on an exciting cultural adventure.

Help stop the spread of this deadly disease

The key to stopping the spread of HIV/AIDS that is ravaging India is educating the population on prevention measures and opening up a dialogue about the disease. If you help even one person learn what they need to know to prevent future infection, you will have saved a life.

Fight against cultural stigmas, isolation, and discrimination

Due to a lack of knowledge about the virus, people infected with HIV/AIDS are often ostracized and pushed to the fringes of society in shame. Volunteer in India raising awareness and help shine light into these dark corners of prejudice and false assumptions, paving the way for more acceptance in society for patients living with the disease.

Ease the suffering of infected patients

Not only do people living in India with the disease often lack access to necessary medical care, they are often treated badly by others, and it is difficult for them to deal with. Help them gain access to therapeutic counseling and offer them the compassion and empathy they are often deprived of.

Promote positive attitudes toward sexual health

With the proper precautions, people in India can learn to have a positive attitude towards sexual health and avoid the transmission of this sexually transmitted disease. Volunteering in our HIV/AIDs project in India will help spread this message of positivity and help people take a proactive approach to avoiding infection.

Make a real difference in the world

The best part about this project is how many people in the future will avoid getting HIV/AIDS thanks to your efforts, and the comfort and aid you will provide to those poor people who are already living with the virus.
