We start our journey from Cusco in the early morning, taking a scenic bus ride through the Sacred Valley. After a refreshing morning in the medicinal hot springs, we continue our adventure with a 4-hour hike towards our first camping spot, Huacawuasi. Along the way, we will be surrounded by stunning landscapes and immerse ourselves in the tranquility of the Andean mountains.

Continuing our journey through the captivating Lares Valley, we reach the vibrant community of Huacawasi known for its exceptional weaving traditions. Here, we have the opportunity to witness the skill and artistry of the locals as they create exquisite ponchos and garments. Moving forward, we embark on an ascent towards Condor Pass, standing at an impressive altitude of 4300 meters. At the summit, we are rewarded with breathtaking views of the majestic Mount Veronica towering above us. As we descend gently for approximately one hour, we are greeted by the serene beauty of Ipsaycocha Lake near Patacancha, our final campsite for the day.

On this day of our Lares Trail adventure, we begin our descent towards a panoramic viewpoint overlooking a wide valley. As we make our way down into the valley, we reach the welcoming community of Willoc, where we pause for a delicious lunch. Continuing our journey, we trek for approximately two hours until we reach Pumamarka, where we have the opportunity to explore remarkable Inca terraces. Finally, we arrive in the picturesque town of Ollantaytambo. Nestled in a fertile river valley and surrounded by towering mountains, this ancient Inca village is renowned as a living museum. Here, we can marvel at the extensive archaeological remains and appreciate the diverse array of flora and bird species. In the afternoon, we board the train at either 4:50 pm or 6:00 pm, according to the provided timetable, which will transport us to Aguas Calientes where we will spend the night in a comfortable hotel.

After a refreshing breakfast, we begin our ascent to Machu Picchu, with the option of either a 1.5-hour hike or a 30-minute bus ride that departs at 5:30 am. Upon arrival, we register and embark on a guided tour that lasts approximately 3 hours, exploring the remarkable ruins and learning about their fascinating history.
