Discover The Happiness in Bhutan 10-Day Itinerary

Upon arrival at Paro airport, you will be greeted by our representative. After completing customs formalities, we will embark on a journey to explore Bhutan's historical and cultural treasures. In Paro, we will have lunch and then proceed with sightseeing activities.

Our first stop is the Ta Dzong Museum, which houses religious relics, works of art, and handicrafts that offer insights into Bhutan's past. We will also visit the Rimpong Dzong, a large monastery and administrative center, known for its beautiful painting of the great saint Milarepa. Afterwards, we will drive to Thimphu, the capital city, enjoying scenic views along the way. Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Thimphu, once a rustic village, has now transformed into a bustling capital. Today, we will spend the entire day exploring the city's highlights. Our first stop is the Buddha point, where we can witness the grandeur of the largest Buddha statue in Bhutan. We will also visit the National Memorial Chorten, a temple depicting the Buddhist faith through paintings and statues. This memorial stupa was built as a protection against negative elements of modernization and as a symbol of world peace. In the evening, we return to our hotel in Thimphu.

We will drive to Punakha, a scenic valley located at a lower elevation. On the way, we will pass the Dochu-La pass, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayan peaks on clear days. The journey provides glimpses of everyday life in Bhutan's remote countryside, with its charming villages and landscapes.

Upon reaching Punakha, we will visit Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the Temple of the Divine Madman, revered as a symbol of fertility. Continuing our exploration, we will visit Punakha Dzong, an impressive palace and monastic fortress situated at the confluence of two rivers. This dzong served as the winter headquarters for the religious and administrative authorities. Overnight stay in Punakha.

After breakfast, we will drive to Phobjikha Valley, a picturesque glacial valley known for its rich wildlife, including the black-necked cranes. This valley is an important wildlife preserve and offers stunning natural beauty. Our next stop is Gangtey Goemba, one of the oldest and largest Buddhist centers in Bhutan. We will spend the night in Gangtey, surrounded by the tranquil beauty of the valley.

Today, we will journey to Trongsa, a town known for its historical, political, and religious significance. Upon arrival, we will visit Trongsa Dzong, one of Bhutan's oldest and most important monuments. It sits majestically on a ridge overlooking the Mangde Chhu river and holds a significant place in Bhutan's monarchy. We will enjoy dinner and spend the night at a hotel in Trongsa.

After breakfast, we will drive to Bumthang, considered the spiritual heartland of Bhutan. Bumthang is home to ancient palaces, Buddhist temples, and monasteries. In the morning, we will visit Kurjey Lhakhang, a sacred site where Guru Rimpoche meditated, and Jambay Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan. After lunch, our sightseeing continues with visits to Jakar Dzong and Tamshing Lhakhang, known for their ancient Buddhist wall paintings. Overnight stay in Bumthang.

We will spend the day exploring the cultural and spiritual treasures of Bumthang. Our itinerary includes visits to several temples and monasteries, such as Kurjey Lhakhang and Jambay Lhakhang. We will also explore Jakar Dzong and Tamshing Lhakhang, known for their historical and artistic significance. Overnight stay in Bumthang.

After breakfast, we will drive back to Thimphu via Trongsa. Upon reaching Thimphu, we will check into our hotel and spend the evening at leisure, exploring the local market or relaxing. Overnight stay in Thimphu.

After breakfast, we will visit the Bhutan Post to create personalized stamps and explore the local market in Thimphu. In the afternoon, we will drive to Paro and visit Kichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest and most sacred temples. We will have dinner and spend the night in Paro.

Our final day in Bhutan begins with a hike to Taktsang Monastery, also known as the Tiger's Nest. This iconic monastery clings to a cliff face and offers breathtaking views of the Paro valley. For those unable to hike, a horse can be arranged for transportation. After the hike, we will have lunch and explore the local market in Paro. In the evening, we can reflect on our memorable journey through Bhutan. Overnight stay in Paro.
