Applying for the Thailand volunteer program?

(How can I apply? What happens when I apply? Do you guarantee plac em ent? How long does it take to get confirmation?)

Please Read IFRE's 4 Steps of Application

There are two options for applying to IFRE's volunteer programs in Thailand . You can apply online ( http://www.ifrevolunteers.org/apply-now.php ) or you can download an application form, fill it out, and mail it in. Participants are required to submit their application with a $349 application fee plus the program fee for the number of weeks you choose. However to simply start the process, all that is needed upfront is a $200 deposit which will be deducted from the final invoice. This non-refundable deposit from you is required to ensure the validity of the application.

Once we get your application, we will immediately send it to Thailand for processing. The Thailand in-country coordinator examines your application carefully, finding the best, possible project possible for you. The decisions pertaining to accommodations (room, food, etc.) are made at this time. Accommodations pertaining to living and eating depend on the location of the project.

Once we get the details of your plac em ents, we pass it on to you with a final invoice. Your final payment is due six weeks before your start date, and in expedited cases, as soon as possible. The plac em ent details have local contact information which will be used th em for contacts on your Visa application or to get in touch with the local staff members and/or host family.

Preparation for trips should include reading about Thailand , immunization, travel Visa (entry permit), and booking airfare. If you face any problems, our Program Manager is always available for assistance.

Once you purchase your ticket, send your flight information to our US office by fax or by em ail. Your flight information will be forwarded to our Thailand staff members who will arrange an airport pick-up.
