Where do I stay during one week language program? Where Do I stay during volunteering program?
What do I eat? What about shower and rest rooms? Do you accommodate special diet?
Volunteers in Tanzania stay in our Dar Es Salaam hostel during the one week Language and Culture program. We have a 4 room apartment where our cook prepares Tanzanian meals for you each day. We have a common bath and rest room. Once the Language and Culture is over, our coordinator transports you to your project where he will introduce you with local project staff and a host family.
The vast majority of our Tanzania volunteers live with local host families during their projects. However, volunteers joining an orphanage project stay in the orphanage (where a separate room is allocated for volunteers.) Here you are provided a private room and three meals. The bathroom and kitchen facilities are shared with the family and other volunteers. Tanzanian diets are vegetarian; bread, vegetables, lentil soup, curry, and pickles. Except vegetarian, we do not accommodate any special diets. The host family doesn't offer laundry service.
