Room and Food
Where do I stay during one week language program? Where Do I stay during volunteering program?
What do I eat? What about shower and rest rooms? Do you accommodate special diet?
IFRE arranges room, food, and supervision for volunteer from the start to the end of program. During first, week of language and cultural program, volunteers stay in host family in Galle , Sri Lanka (Most likely in the home of our coordinator). IFRE has an office (small) in Galle , a beautiful sea beach and tourist areas 4 hours west of Colombo . IFRE manages local food 3 times a day.
During volunteering (for working in orphanage, teaching English, and teaching Buddhist monk), volunteers mostly stay in host family. Your host family will offer you a separate room but you will share room, shower, and toilet facilities with host family. However, with little additional fee, we can manage staying in sea side hotel. Galle sea beaches are world famous for its beauty and always offer colorful life for visitors. Please contact us if you want to stay in sea beach motel. The details of housing arrangement will be given before the start of program in placement sheets. Many volunteers like this option of stay in sea beach areas.
In work in elephant orphanage, elephant/leopard study, and migratory bird study, volunteers will stay in camp or field based. Except vegetarian, we do not accommodate any special diets.
