How long has IFRE been working in South Africa? Whom do volunteers work with? Where are volunteer projects located? What are IFRE's programs?
We have been facilitating volunteer abroad programs in South Africa since 2007. IFRE partners with an award-winning South African Foundation which is managed by a Strategic Tourism Communication Practice and Travel Route Planner. This South African Foundation is highly motivated to convert tourist dollars into sustainable development. The Foundation involves the community in the international volunteering process, so they can learn business skills and develop international relationships.
IFRE is able to offer volunteer projects focused on education, public health, social services, day care and HIV/AIDS. We need volunteers who are dedicated and willing to immerse themselves into sometimes disturbing and always challenging situations. Volunteers are needed to act as a mentor, role-model and parent/friend figure for adults/children involved in our projects.
IFRE’s volunteer projects all originate in Cape Town, but projects are located throughout the Winelands and Garden Route areas.
The mission of IFRE Volunteers is to offer the most affordable as well as the highest quality volunteer and humanitarian abroad experiences - enabling us to make a contribution for all of humanity in its quest to make the world a better place. Through our volunteer and humanitarian trips abroad, we aim to spread love and compassion worldwide while improving the lives of destitute children and less-fortunate communities. We at IFRE also seek sustainable solutions in the fields of education, healthcare, conservation efforts and development issues through international volunteering.
