Applying for the South Africa volunteer program?

There are two options to apply for plac em ent in IFRE's South Africa program. Either apply online at ( http://www.ifrevolunteers.org/apply-now.php ) or you can down load the application, fill it out, and mail it to us. YParticipants are required to submit their application with a $349 application fee plus the program fee for the number of weeks you choose. However to simply start the process, all that is needed upfront is a $200 deposit which will be deducted from the final invoice. This non-refundable deposit from you is required to ensure the validity of the application. If you have questions or special requests please make th em on your application in the space provided.
Once we get your application, we will immediately send it to South Africa for processing. They go over your application carefully and find the best project possible for you. The decisions for room and food are made at this time, our coordinator chooses a family for you who will provide you local meals everyday. Arrang em ent for room and food depend on the location of project. The vast majority of our volunteers stay in full immersion home stays but some orphanage projects are residential. In these cases, our long-term volunteers will live at the orphanage where they work.
Once we get the details of your plac em ents, we pass it on to you with a final invoice to make payment of your program fee. The plac em ent details have local contact information that you can use on your Visa application or to get in touch with the local staff and host family.
Preparation for trips should include reading about South Africa , immunization, travel visa (entry permit), and booking airfare. If you face any probl em s our Program manager is always available for assistance.
Now, once you purchase your ticket, send your flight information to our USA office we will then pass it along to South Africa to arrange your airport pick up. |
