How long has IFRE been working in Nepal? Whom do you work with? Where are you located? What are IFRE's programs?
IFRE has offered our volunteer programs in Nepal since 2007. We currently support six major volunteer service projects in Nepal: work in orphanages, teach English, teach Buddhist monks, medical/healthcare, conservation and photo journalism. IFRE partners with many local NGO's orphanages and community projects to offer meaningful placement for our volunteers in Nepal.
IFRE has a strong, established office in the heart of Kathmandu, which provides volunteers access to every part of the city. Our orientation and Language and Cultural immersion programs are facilitated through the Kathmandu office, located just 4 miles from the airport. It boasts eight rooms, full kitchen, internet access and recreational areas. Most of our volunteer projects in Kathmandu are within 20 km radius of this office, which allows us the frequent interaction with our volunteers. Volunteers are always welcome at the office.
The mission of IFRE Volunteers is to offer the most affordable as well as the highest quality volunteer and humanitarian abroad experiences - enabling us to make a contribution for all of humanity in its quest to make the world a better place. Through our volunteer and humanitarian trips abroad, we aim to spread love and compassion worldwide while improving the lives of destitute children and less-fortunate communities. We at IFRE also seek sustainable solutions in the fields of education, healthcare, conservation efforts and development issues through international volunteering.
