I have very much enjoyed my time in Xela. The first week, which I heard going in, was the hardest week by far. I was homesick along with having a little travelers sickness over the weekend. Other than that I have no major complaints. I have really enjoyed Oscar has a Spanish teacher and he has been really helpful in terms of telling me different things to do in the town. The orphanage has been an incredible experience and, although my Spanish speaking level is still not very high, I have really connected with some of the kids. Overall this has been a really great experience and I have fallen in love with Guatemala, especially when I took a weekend trip to Lake Atitlan.
