About Ghana volunteer program (In General)
How long has IFRE been working in Ghana ? Whom do you work with? Where are you located? What are IFRE's programs?
In Ghana we have been running our volunteer programs for nearly two years. We are presently focusing on 4 major volunteer service projects in Ghana volunteering with children, teaching English, Health Care and HIV/AIDS education. IFRE works with many local NGO's, orphanages, and community projects to offer meaningful plac em ent for our volunteers. Volunteers commit around thirty hours each week to their project. Most facilities are very basic this includes the health care clinics but the work is rewarding and the experience is unforgettable.
We work in association with a successful partner that is very involved in community efforts to diss em inate information about HIV/AIDS prevention, gain ground for the education of women, care for the young [by donating to new schools] and providing international volunteer staff, and in the fight against poverty by doing all they can to create access to health care and safe water. Our partner is an NGO and Non Profit Making Organization operating at the Akatsi and Hohoe District in the Volta Region with its headquarters in Accra, Ghana.
