Applying for the Costa Rica volunteer program?

(How can I apply? What happen when I apply? Do you guarantee placement? How long does it take to get confirmation?)

Please read IFRE 4 steps of application

There are two options to apply for placement in IFRE's Costa Rica program. Either apply online at ( http://www.ifrevolunteers.org/apply-now.php ) or you can down load the application, fill it out, and mail it to us. Participants are required to submit their application with a $349 application fee plus the program fee for the number of weeks you choose. However to simply start the process, all that is needed upfront is a $200 deposit which will be deducted from the final invoice. This non-refundable deposit from you is required to ensure the validity of the application. The decisions for room and food are made at this time, our coordinator chooses a family for you who will provide you local meals everyday. Arrangement for room and food depends on the location of project. The vast majority of our volunteers stay in full immersion home stays though hostel placements can be arranged.

Once we get the details of your placement, we pass it on to you with a final invoice to make payment of your program fee. The placement details have local contact information that you can use on your Visa application or to get in touch with the local staff and host family.

Preparation for trips should include reading about Costa Rica , immunization, travel Visa (entry permit), and booking airfare. If you face any problems our Program manager is always available for assistance.

Now, once you purchase your ticket, send your flight information to our USA office we will then pass it along to Costa Rica to arrange your airport pick up.
